The IDF formulated a new plan for shaping the face of the Middle East the day after the campaign in the north - which they are expected to present soon to the political echelon.

The plan shows that disarming Hezbollah is not a goal at this stage, as such a move would require the complete occupation of Lebanon and the systematic dismantling of infrastructure in every village.

The plan, which has undergone legal regulation, is based on the understanding that Hezbollah took advantage of the return of the population to the villages of southern Lebanon at the end of Operation Northern Arrows - to rebuild underground infrastructure and stockpile weapons within zero range of the border.

Now the IDF aims to completely destroy dozens of Lebanese villages located on the front line - from Mekhil to Naqoura - to which the residents will not return, thereby creating a security zone of between two and four kilometers.

The plan defines the civilian infrastructure in these villages as "criminalized" due to the massive use made of them by Hezbollah.

The intention is that the new security zone will be completely free of Lebanese residents. The plan stipulates that a limited number of Christian villages in the area will not be destroyed, and their residents will be allowed to remain under IDF security control.

In addition, the IDF will establish a strong and permanent defense line within Lebanese territory, effectively copying the 'Yellow Line' model, implemented in the Gaza Strip.

Alongside the operational plan, the IDF this morning presented a more sober approach regarding the end of the campaign: After two and a half years of prolonged fighting, the IDF admits that the goal of disarming Hezbollah is not achievable at the present time - even though only the IDF can do it. This is because, as mentioned, in order to disarm Hezbollah, one must go through every village and settlement throughout Lebanon, and therefore disarming the organization is not one of the goals of the current campaign.

According to a senior IDF officer, the goal required to end the campaign is to weaken the organization, severely damage its capabilities, and physically remove it from the border.

It should be noted that after it was stated in the briefing that disarming Hezbollah was not part of the campaign's goals, the IDF clarified in an official statement: The IDF is committed to disarming Hezbollah in the long term - through "a wide range of efforts that will continue over time. The current campaign harms Hezbollah and will advance the achievement of the goal.".

According to a report in Kan News, the IDF and the political echelon say that Hezbollah and Iran should be cut off in talks to end the campaign, and that Hezbollah is very concerned about this and is making an effort to ensure that Iran does not "neglect" it, so that the day after the campaign it will remain isolated.
