Drama in a hotel in Tiberias: 65-year-old chokes while eating matzah - and is evacuated after resuscitation in serious condition

A 65-year-old man choked this evening (Friday night) in a hotel on Jerusalem Street in Tiberias - and lost consciousness.

Rescue forces called to the scene performed CPR on him, and after, by the grace of God, his heart began to beat again, he was taken in serious condition to the North Poriya Medical Center - for further treatment.

Yosef Kodar, Elchanan Hayon, Shneur Brizel and Arie Levinger, United Hatzalah paramedics: "According to those staying at the hotel, he choked while eating matzah and subsequently lost consciousness. We performed CPR on him while giving him electric shocks from a defibrillator, and after his heart miraculously started beating again, he was taken to the North Poriya Medical Center in serious condition.".

Paramedics Yohanan Shapiro and Matanel said: "When we arrived at the scene with an MDA ambulance, we found a man about 70 years old, unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, after choking while eating matzah.

Together with MDA medics and paramedics, we performed advanced resuscitation operations on him, which included feeding him, massages, providing respiratory assistance, and administering an electric shock. After, by the grace of God, his heart began to beat again, he was taken to North Poriya Hospital for further treatment.".
