Eight Arab and Muslim countries today (Thursday) issued a joint condemnation of the death penalty for terrorists law that was finally approved this week in the Knesset.
The statement was signed by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan and Indonesia.
""This is a dangerous escalation that could increase tensions in the region and harm its stability," the countries said in their joint condemnation - which also expressed concern over the situation of Palestinian terrorists imprisoned in Israeli prisons, who they claim are subjected to violence and starvation.
In the statement, the 8 countries called on Israel to reverse the measures, which they said could increase tension in the region.
Minister Ben Gvir responded to the condemnation: "Your preaching of morality and concern for the 'rights' of bloodthirsty human animals are a display of hypocrisy that arouses ridicule among every Israeli citizen.
""Understand: the celebration of concessions is over. Whoever dares to murder an Israeli citizen belongs not in prison, but on the gallows.".
""The time has come for anyone who murders an Israeli citizen to understand that this is the last step he will take in his life. And regarding Saudi Arabia and the Emirates, we have one sentence to say: Get it together, Israel will defend itself!""
Minister Ben Gvir revealed on Channel 7 on the eve of the holiday that work on the ground has already begun. "Yesterday I had my first meeting with the IPS about the implementation of the law. They are already opening a death row ward and establishing a dedicated facility. It won't happen tomorrow morning, but we have started working. The terrorists don't sleep at night, they worry, and they have something to worry about.".
