Are summer vacations also in danger? According to the Ministry of Transportation's pessimistic forecast, a return to full activity at Ben Gurion Airport is not expected in the near future.
A senior official in the Ministry of Transportation told Channel 12: "Ben Tel Aviv Airport will return to extensive activity only when we get down to an average of one or two launches a week from Iran towards the center.".
The statement raises quite a few question marks, as there have been launches from Yemen in the past, and Ben Gurion Airport was operating even then. If Ben Gurion Airport does not return to normal according to this prediction, many Israelis will receive notices of flight cancellations.
Last week, the Ministry of Transportation announced the cancellation of significant relief planned for those leaving Israel through Ben Gurion Airport, after assessing the situation following the launches to Israel from Iran.
At the same time, Wizz Air announced that it is suspending its flights to and from Israel until April 20.
Currently, Israeli airlines continue to operate only a special flight schedule and are not returning to full routine, which means that despite the increase in the number of passengers, cancellations are expected for many customers.
