As part of Minister Miri Regev's policy to improve public service: The Ministry of Transportation is launching a new service that allows drivers to receive their permanent driver's license directly home or to a destination of their choice.
Starting today, drivers who have been issued a new driver's license (or a duplicate license) can receive their license at home, via courier or registered mail, or at Ben Gurion Airport and other border crossings.
How does it work?
After paying the fee and taking a photo of your driver's license (if required), go to the fastdl.co.il website and select the shipping address and preferred delivery method, or contact the call center at 077-9985095.
Further details can be obtained on the Ministry of Transportation website.
The new service allows the driving public to choose the method of obtaining their license that is most convenient for them, and prevents delays in the delivery of licenses, all at a low cost that covers shipping costs.
The service is operated by Barry Printing, the Ministry of Transportation's franchisee for issuing driver's licenses.
The Ministry of Transportation issues more than a million new driver's licenses or duplicate licenses each year - replacing lost or stolen licenses. The issuance is usually carried out within about 24 hours of payment of the fee, and the permanent licenses are printed by Barry Printing.
Until now, licenses were sent by regular mail.
The launch of the new service is part of a broader move to improve service and expand the Ministry of Transportation's digital services and make them accessible to the public. A campaign has also recently been launched to encourage the use of the ministry's digital licensing and vehicle services.
Minister of Transportation: "We continue to lead a true service revolution for citizens. A driver's license delivery service to your home saves bureaucracy and valuable time and allows drivers to choose how to obtain their license in a simple, fast, and easy way.""
