MK Sasson Guetta of the Likud proposed that Prime Minister Netanyahu's wife, Sara, carry a torch on the upcoming Independence Day. In a conversation with Yinon Magal and Ben Caspit on 103fm radio, Guetta explained why the Prime Minister's wife deserves this honor.
Magal asked the MK: "Sarah and Bibi are like the sun and the moon, aren't they?" - and Guetta replied: "Yes.".
According to him, "No person in the country is ahead of Sara Netanyahu, nor ahead of Bibi. Sara and Bibi are the same. Bibi is the prime minister who does his job best, but Sara, as the prime minister's wife, continued to work as a psychologist, and continued to contribute to society and be a support for the prime minister so that he can do what he is doing today - he is changing all of history.".
Magal asked why a relative of an elected official should light a torch. "Is the prime minister an ordinary public servant after everything he does for the country? He does what he has to do, but this time it's something special, different from the usual," Guetta replied.
He emphasized: "The prime minister's wife should light a torch after everything she's been through. The prime minister couldn't have done what he did without having a great woman by his side.".
Ben Caspit was interested in the MK's political situation ahead of the Likud primaries and wondered: "Are you running?""
Guetta responded in the affirmative and sought assistance from the presenters: "I'm running in the national primary, son. Are you coming to help me?""
