The shooting at the left APC: Yair Golan, chairman of the Democrats party, is intensifying his tone against Yair Lapid and accusing him of refusing to join his party due to "personal problems" and irrational behavior.
According to a report by Yishai Friedman on Channel 14, those around Golan do not hide their expectation of the political collapse of Yesh Atid, with the understanding that weakening Lapid is the only way to force him to join a large, united left-wing party - under Golan's leadership.
According to the report, as part of this strategy, 'Democrats' activists are working in the field and in domestic circles to warn left-wing voters against voting for Naftali Bennett or Yair Lapid. They claim that Lapid and his friends, who currently largely represent the 'Kaplan protest', are seriously harming the bloc's chances of winning the next elections.
Now, the crisis of trust between the parties is becoming personal, with Golan directly accusing Lapid of political imprudence stemming from personal motives.
While the Democrats are striving to weaken Lapid in order to turn him into a junior partner, there is a parallel concern: a too significant collapse of Yesh Atid will ultimately lead to the loss of critical seats for the left bloc.
Yair Lapid responded in a tweet on his X account: "Before the war, I warned against exactly such things. Unfortunately, Yair Golan and the Democrats chose a low and personal style.
