For several years, Yehuda Mordechai was a member of the Agudath Israel congregation in Baltimore. He was a regular guest at meals and kiddush, which earned him the nickname "Ish Kiddushim.".

On Passover Eve, one of the members of the community came across an article titled: "In Baltimore, Adventists Teach Jews About the Savior." The same Yehuda Mordechai appears in the photos attached to the article. Adventists are a sect of Sabbath-keeping Christians.

In the article, the author says that Mordechai was born in Washington, raised as a secular Jew, and was baptized into Christianity about thirty years ago. In the article, he is quoted as saying quotes from 'Messianic Jews.'.

The discovery caused a great uproar in the community, when it became clear that the community had been drinking fortified wine for years.

The community decided to convene an urgent meeting, in which the rabbis would discuss the implications of the discovery.
