An Iranian missile fragment fell today (Monday) just a few meters from the Ari Mikveh, in the ancient cemetery in Safed.

Security forces searched the area after receiving the report, and the suspicion of injuries in the incident was ruled out.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection also updated, after initially suspecting toxic substances in the missile, that the existence of a hazardous materials incident had been ruled out, and clarified that this was a fire involving jet fuel residues inside the missile.

The suspicion was ruled out after firefighting and monitoring teams from the Galil-Golan station completed their operations in the field in the afternoon.

The teams carried out extensive scans and professional monitoring operations using dedicated equipment, ultimately ruling out the presence of hazardous materials at the scene.

Event Commander, Lt. Col. Roy Finish: "Upon receiving the report, we arrived at the scene and identified a large missile fragment in the open area. We acted carefully and professionally to conduct environmental monitoring and scans to ensure that there was no danger of a leak of hazardous materials or harm to life. After we verified that the scene was free of these materials, we declared the incident under control.".
