Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called today (Monday), in a response he submitted to the High Court of Justice, to postpone the hearing on the dismissal of Itamar Ben-Gvir from his position as Minister of National Security during the war.
In his response, Netanyahu attacked the very fact that the procedure was being carried out at this time, and claimed that beyond the issue of authority, the security reality in which the State of Israel finds itself does not allow for legal proceedings of this type.
""Beyond the fact that you do not have the legal authority to discuss this, the Prime Minister and Minister Ben Gvir are busy with the war - therefore, the discussion of the petitions seeking to dismiss the minister cannot be held and must be postponed," it was written.
It was further claimed that at a time when the entire security apparatus and the political echelon are focused on managing the war in Iran and in various arenas, holding a political-legal discussion about the identity of the minister in charge of internal security constitutes a violation of the government's ability to function in a time of emergency.
