
A combined shooting and driving attack is suspected this evening (Thursday) at a Jewish center in West Bloomfield, Oakland County, Michigan. According to the report, the shooter crashed into a truck at the Jewish center and then opened fire on security guards at the location.
No injuries have been reported so far. The car caught fire following the collision. After a confrontation with him, the shooter was eliminated.
Testimony from the scene indicates that a vehicle intentionally crashed into the Jewish Center building and the shooter exited it and began shooting at the security forces at the scene - who returned fire until the police arrived.
Schools in the area have been placed on "secure lockdown." Chabad houses and Hasidic educational institutions are also active in the area.
The local police statement said: "Michigan Police are aware of an active shooter incident currently occurring in West Bloomfield. We are asking members of the community to stay away from the area to allow law enforcement to operate.".

FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on the X Network: "FBI personnel are on scene with our partners in Michigan responding to an alleged vehicle hit and run and an active shooter incident in the town of West Bloomfield.".
The Jewish Federation of Detroit said in a statement: "We are aware of an active security incident at Temple Israel. Law enforcement is on scene. Our Jewish institutions are under lockdown until further notice.".
