President Yitzhak Herzog visited the north of the country today (Sunday). The president first visited the Asher Regional Council headquarters, where the head of the council and chairman of the Front Line Forum, Moshe Davidovich, reviewed with him the situation in the sector, the activity of the forces and the preparations on the ground - as well as the challenges facing the communities of the northern settlements.

Afterwards, the two continued for lunch at a local business, with the aim of strengthening the local economy and expressing support for small businesses operating in the north in light of the security challenge.

The President also visited the Galilee Medical Center, where IDF soldiers who were injured in an incident that occurred this week on the Lebanese border are being hospitalized. During the visit, the President spoke with the injured and their families, expressed his support and wished them a speedy recovery.

At the end, the President visited the Nahariya Municipality's operational center, where he met with Mayor Ronen Marli.

President Yitzhak Herzog: "We came here today to strengthen and encourage the residents of the north. I am here in Nahariya with the wonderful mayor Ronen Marli, I was also at the Asher headquarters and at the Galil Hospital - wonderful places, with extraordinary resilience, people with civic abilities and resilience that radiates to the entire world - which allows us to lead the campaign and take down the head of the snake, the head of the empire that sits in Tehran, and of course, repel Hezbollah from Lebanon.".

""We are in difficult times, this municipality is functioning in an exemplary manner and I call on residents throughout the region to continue to be vigilant and alert, because there are alarms here all the time and we want to tell the residents of the north, we are with you with all our strength. In recent days, you have been the front and Hezbollah is trying to attack and we are responding with full force to anyone who dares to threaten our security.".

""On this occasion, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family of the late Maj. Gen. Maher Khatar, a dear and beloved family. We will complete the mission and bring better days to the entire people of Israel. Be strong and courageous, people of Israel. Condolences to the dear families and a full recovery to the wounded.".

Head of the Mateh Asher Regional Council and Chairman of the Line of Contact Forum, Moshe Davidovich: "We live here with heroic citizens who went through a morning of fire, drones, and physical and mental injuries, including among our dear soldiers. The security reality that is emerging here requires the government to take note. The residents of the line of contact are determined to overcome this period, but they demand a horizon of true peace, including the restoration and growth of the north. I said to the president on a personal note: "You are the lighthouse that lights our way at this time. Do not be afraid, my brother Isaac! As it is said in the Book of Exodus before the parting of the Red Sea: 'The Lord will fight for you, but you will be silent.' We will get through this, and you will continue to light our way.""

Nahariya Mayor Ronen Marli: "In Nahariya we have a total of 15 seconds of warning time from the launch of missiles or submarines. The wind in Nahariya is strong, it is firm. We are here, expecting the IDF and the State of Israel to finish the job and are looking to live here in peace. There are amazing youth here, and amazing residents, there is a strong spirit and endless resilience here.".

""Dedicated and excellent municipal employees who work in the field all the time. I ask to strengthen our fighters on land, in the air, at sea, in the country and abroad, to do the best they can so that this ends and that God has patience and forbearance for us.".
