Rabbi Daniel Pinto, 28, was arrested last night (Monday) at his home in Be'er Sheva in front of his wife and children by military police forces.
During the morning he was tried and sent to three days in military prison.
The organization 'Giving Wives' accompanies the family members until their release.
Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri sharply attacked the arrest of the Abraach at a faction meeting in the Knesset: "How cruel and wicked to arrest a 28-year-old Abraach, with a pregnant wife and a child with special needs, and throw him in prison for the crime of studying Torah.
""The world should be shocked by the persecution of Torah students. We must not get used to this! How many punishments and punishments this causes the people of Israel, especially in the difficult times we are in.".
