The Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health announced that today (Sunday) high to very high air pollution due to respirable particles, originating from dust transport, still prevails in the following areas: Gush Dan, Jerusalem, the Coastal Plain, the Sharon, the Inner Lowlands, Judea, Samaria, the Jordan Valley, the Negev Arava and Eilat.

The high air pollution is related to the slow settling of dust that was transported to our areas yesterday with the southwest winds from North Africa - which is leading to a deterioration in air quality.

In light of the data, the ministries are urging the public to exercise caution: "We recommend that sensitive populations, including heart patients, lung patients, the elderly, children and pregnant women, to avoid "From strenuous physical activity outdoors.".

From noon onwards, moderate to high air pollution is forecast in all areas except for the Eilat and southern Arava regions, where high air pollution is still forecast.

Moderate to high air pollution is forecast for tomorrow in all areas.

The ministry will continue to update the public as needed based on forecast data and data measured at monitoring stations across the country.
