Arkia Airlines will hold a launch event next week to reveal new destinations the company will fly to this summer.
According to a report on Channel 7, the choice of location for the launch caused discomfort among professionals in the field and the religious public, as the event will be held at a restaurant specializing in non-kosher seafood - including shrimp.
Senior figures in the tourism industry, travel agents, media figures and bloggers were invited to the event, a significant number of whom wore a kippah, and who were puzzled by the choice of location.
A source in the aviation industry told Channel 7: "There is no anti-Israeli sentiment here, but it is a matter of insensitivity. If someone holds an event in a nightclub, they do not expect the religious sector to attend. Here too - there is a statement about who is the truly important audience and who is less so.".
A company source noted that this is a dairy breakfast that will be cooked at the restaurant, but is not related to its regular breakfast menu.
From Markia, it was reported in response: ""This is a style fitness event and a dairy breakfast.".
