Three years after the law revoking citizenship and deporting terrorists was passed: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and security officials today (Tuesday) for the first time confirmed the deportation of Israeli citizen terrorists to the Gaza Strip.

The steps have been completed regarding the first two terrorists:

Terrorist Mahmoud Ahmed, who was convicted of a series of shooting attacks, served 23 years in prison and was released in 2024 - will be deported to the Gaza Strip immediately.

Terrorist Muhammad Ahmed Hussein Halasi, who was convicted of stabbing two elderly women in an attack at the Commissioner's Palace in Jerusalem and sentenced to 18 years in prison, will be deported to Gaza upon his release from prison.

The law allowing the deportation of terrorists who received compensation from the Palestinian Authority was approved in the Knesset three years ago by a majority of 94 MKs.

MK Ofir Katz of the Likud party, who initiated the law, said: "For three years I pressured the system so that my law would be implemented, and finally it is happening. This is how we fight terrorism. History was made these days.".

Netanyahu said of the move, after signing it: "This morning I signed the revocation of citizenship and deportation of two Israeli terrorists who carried out stabbing and shooting attacks against Israeli civilians and were rewarded for their criminal actions by the Palestinian Authority. I thank Coalition Chairman Ofir Katz for leading the law that will expel them from the State of Israel, and many more like them are on the way.".

The 'Choose Life' forum of bereaved families, which initiated and wrote the law to deport terrorists, stated: "This day is a day of justice for the State of Israel and a moral victory for the bereaved families. After years of stubborn struggle in the Knesset, in committees and in the field, we, the bereaved families from the 'Choose Life' forum, are finally seeing the implementation of the law that we wrote together with Attorney Morris Hirsch.

""The message today is clear and sharp: Those who choose terror, those who murder Israelis, and those who receive a bloody salary from the Palestinian Authority – lose the right to live among us and to benefit from the blessings of the Jewish state. There is no half citizenship and no half loyalty. Those who betray the state and harm its citizens are sentenced to death, and as long as the law has not yet been completed, their place is across the border, in Gaza or Ramallah, and not in the heart of Jerusalem.

""We congratulate the coalition chairman, Ofir Katz, and the professional elements on completing the process, but emphasize: This is just the beginning. Two terrorists are an important step, but there are hundreds of other terrorists with blue ID cards who enjoy the conditions of citizens while their hands are stained with blood.".
