The storm of Ehud Barak's racist recordings: Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, MK Yaakov Margi of Shas, attacked the former prime minister - and the opposition - in a stormy speech in the plenary this evening (Monday).
""The same Ehud Barak spoke in a racist, derogatory and humiliating manner about the immigration of people from the Mizrahi community - the high-quality immigration that built the country, and I did not hear a single condemnation from the opposition and the camp that claims to be 'enlightened' and preaches to us morning, noon and night. I despise this man!"'
In recordings revealed by Yishai Friedman on Channel 14, Ehud Barak is heard presenting his plan to change the demographics of Israel.
"We need to break the rabbinate's monopoly on marriages, funerals, who is a Jew, and open the gates to mass conversion to Judaism," said Barak. "And unlike Israel's founding fathers who had to accept population from Arab and North African countries - this time we can be more selective.".
