The Iranian news agency 'Fars', affiliated with the regime, reported today (Thursday) the first operational deployment of one of the advanced missiles in the arsenal of the Revolutionary Guards - the KhorMashhar-4.
According to the report, the missiles were deployed in 'missile cities.' These are fortified underground launch facilities.
The missile reaches a speed of about Mach 16 - 16 times the speed of sound - outside the atmosphere, and more than Mach 8 upon re-entry.
According to the claims, the missile's speed allows it to cover the distance from Iran to Israel in just 10 to 12 minutes from the moment of launch.
The missile has a range of 2000 km, a heavy warhead of 1500 kg, and an accuracy of 30 meters.
Deploying the missile in underground facilities is intended to give the Iranians a 'second strike' capability, in the event of a preemptive attack on the missile launchers.
