The Reuters news agency quoted an "Israeli political source" as saying that Wittkopf's visit is "part of preparation for resuming talks with Iran" and that it is a direct follow-up to Chief of Staff Zamir's visit to Washington, where he met with his American counterpart, General Dan Kane.
