Likud in an unusual announcement: 'A hunting campaign to overthrow the right. Stop the crime of the Deep State!''

The Likud party issued an unusual statement this evening (Saturday night), in which it accuses what it calls the "Israeli Deep State" - the Attorney General's Office, the Office of the Attorney General, and the police - of conducting an "illegal and deliberate hunting campaign" aimed at overthrowing the right-wing government.

According to the party, this is a move designed to instill fear and intimidation in government ministers and members of the Knesset.

""These days we are witnessing an illegal and deliberate hunting campaign with one goal - the overthrow of the right-wing government by the Israeli Deep State and its spokespeople in the Prosecutor's Office, the Attorney General's Office, and the police.".

""This hunting expedition is intended to instill fear and awe in government ministers, members of Knesset and senior officials, while creating a stranglehold around the people surrounding the Prime Minister. This illegal and deliberate expedition creates false plots and false incidents that did not exist and were not created. As Judge Mizrahi said - 'Camels bloom in the air.'".

""All of this was done with the intention of preventing the democratically elected government from fulfilling its role, to discredit it and to try to shorten its days, through improper and illegal means.".

The Likud mentions that "for comparison, during the left-wing government of Bennett-Lapid and the Muslim Brotherhood, the same elements did not open a single investigation against the ministers of the left-wing government, its members of Knesset, and senior officials on its behalf. In contrast, during the current right-wing government, the same Deep State and its proxies open investigations every day against a long line of ministers, members of Knesset, and senior officials.".

Likud also claims: "At the same time, the Deep State is closing ranks and eliminating investigations related to its own criminal offenses.

For example:

• Closing the criminal incident of the theft of the vest by Gali Baharav's son is clear.
• Repeated postponement (23 times!) of the critical intelligence committee meeting. This postponement is intended to prevent the shocking truth revealed in the State Comptroller's report about the criminal use of spies to infiltrate the lives of thousands of Israelis, while seriously violating their fundamental rights. Illegal use of software intended for use against terrorist elements in enemy countries.
• Stopping the State Comptroller's investigation into the events of October 7th.
• The scandalous close ranks in the case of the former military police officer and those involved in it in the prosecutor's office and the Attorney General's Office for an offense that caused incalculable global damage to the State of Israel and IDF soldiers and harmed the security of the state.
