Human rights organizations claim that at least 45 people have been killed in Iran since the protests began.

Regarding the killing of protesters, he said: "We are monitoring this very closely. If Iran continues to kill protesters, we will hit them very hard. They are going to pay a heavy price." He made it clear that while tragic incidents resulting from crowding are one thing, deliberate shooting by the regime at civilians is a red line that the US will not tolerate.

President Trump also sent a message to the Iranians: "You need to get serious about freedom. You are a very brave people. What happened to your country is terrible, you were a great country a few years ago.".

About Reza Pahlavi, the exiled Iranian Shah, he said: "He is a nice man, I am not sure he is suitable to be a ruler. Everyone should be allowed to come and see what is happening there.".

The political and security echelons in Israel estimate that the Iranian regime is not close to falling. However, security sources note that "a special and dramatic event is taking place in Iran, the results of which are difficult to predict.".
