A video posted by a fighter from the Golani unit to his story, in which he is seen firing towards the Gaza Strip "in honor of the New Year," was distributed on social media and garnered millions of views.
According to a report in Kan News, the video uploaded to the soldier's personal account was shared online by a pro-Palestinian account that monitors posts by IDF soldiers online.
An IDF spokesman said in response: "The soldier documented in the video acted contrary to procedures, firing unprofessionally and not following orders. The incident will be investigated in depth. Accordingly, steps will be taken against the soldier involved in the incident based on the findings.".
