Dr. Sharon Alrai Price, head of Public Health Services, is retiring from her position.
According to a report today (Monday) in 'Kan News', Al-Rai Price informed the Health Ministry management in recent days of her intention to retire, as well as the senior officials of the Public Health Division, after five and a half years in office.
It is still unclear what led to the sudden announcement of the termination of the position, when a replacement for Dr. Al-Rai-Price has not yet been appointed and a tender to fill the position has not even been published.
Alrai Price burst into the spotlight in 2020 with the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, when she was appointed as acting director of the Public Health Unit.
The following year, she was appointed to the position permanently.
During the epidemic, she was insulted and threatened by people who refused to be vaccinated against the disease.
