
Dramatic development in the case of suspected corruption in the Histadrut: The police announced this evening (Tuesday) that three senior executives of the Menorah Mivtachim company were questioned with a warning.
Additionally, investigators from the police's Lahav 433 unit searched the company's offices, questioned employees, and collected documents.
According to the police statement, the investigation into the Menorah Mivtachim company is on suspicion of committing public corruption offenses. Upon completion of their investigation, the three were released under restrictive conditions.
Menorah Insurance Company announced this evening to the Stock Exchange that police investigators arrived at the company's offices this morning and "requested documents and information in accordance with the warrant presented to it.".
According to the police's suspicions in the case, Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar David, together with other senior figures in the organization, acted to promote the economic interests of Ezra Gabbay's insurance agency, without tenders, to the various workers' committees affiliated with the Histadrut - in companies and local authorities.
In return, it is suspected, Bar David, his wife Hila, and other senior Histadrut officials received favors from collectors.
