Good news at the start of the new year: The Fuel and Gas Administration in the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced today (Tuesday) that a significant reduction in fuel prices will take effect at midnight between Wednesday and Thursday.
The maximum price per liter of 95 octane gasoline in self-service (including VAT) will be 6.85 NIS per liter - a decrease of 26 cents from the previous month. The surcharge for full service will be 25 cents per liter, unchanged.
In Eilat, the maximum price per liter of 95 gasoline in self-service (excluding VAT) will be 5.80 NIS per liter, a decrease of 23 agorot. The surcharge for full service will be 21 agorot per liter.
Batsheva Abuhatsira, Director of the Fuel and Gas Administration: "For the first time in the last two years, the price of gasoline has dropped below 7 shekels per liter. This is a significant decrease, resulting from a drop of approximately 11% in international gasoline prices in the Mediterranean region, due to an excess supply of distillates, a decrease in demand, and a decrease in the geopolitical risk premium. In addition, the dollar exchange rate weakened by approximately 2%.".
