After the leaders of the "old settlement" in Jerusalem awarded the three young men arrested at the Yehud excavation site 1,000 NIS for each day of imprisonment in the military prison, a complaint was filed with the Israel Police and the Tax Authority demanding that an investigation be opened into tax offenses, money laundering, and violations of the Cash Law.

In Tammuz 5785, during protests against the desecration of graves at a construction site in the city of Yehud, three young men from the 'old settlement' were arrested - and following their failure to report to the draft offices, they were turned over to the military police and imprisoned in the military prison for long periods of imprisonment.

All three spent their days in prison in solitary confinement due to their refusal to wear military uniforms.

About three weeks ago, the last prisoner, Rabbi Elazar Tzadok Kaufman, who was imprisoned for 140 days, was released, while in recent months, Rabbi David Menachem Mintzberg, who was imprisoned for over 30 days, and Rabbi Aryeh Mordechai Rabinowitz, who was imprisoned for over 90 days, were also released.

As first reported on the Haredim 10 website, on the 21st of Kassili - the day marking the rescue day of Rabbi Yoelish zt"l of Satmar - a ceremony was held to honor and strengthen "the rabbis who stood at the forefront of the struggle with strength and courage.".

The gathering was held at the Shaarei Tuvia study center in Jerusalem - and at the center of the event, the young men were awarded a financial grant as a token of appreciation and recognition. For each day they spent in prison, they received 1,000 NIS, which was awarded "by governors and benefactors from all over the world, who wished to share in the great merit of the young men who were in prison.".

It turned out that one of the detainees received 140,000 NIS in cash.

According to a report by Daniel Grubeis in Galts, the Haredi community is responding to the complaint filed with the Tax Authority and the police, and says that they prepared for this in advance - and that the payments were made by dozens of different donors, who donated small amounts separately, and therefore this is not a violation of the law.
