""I approved the largest gas deal in Israeli history - 112 billion shekels. Of this, 58 billion shekels will go to the state treasury," Netanyahu said.
He added: "In the first four years, we will receive half a billion shekels for the state treasury, and then it starts to increase - until it reaches six billion shekels each year.".
He said, "This money will strengthen education, health, infrastructure, security and the future of future generations. I approved the deal after ensuring our security interests. The deal encourages gas exploration in our region and encourages companies to sell gas at a cheap price - to you, the citizens of Israel.".
Energy and Infrastructure Minister Eli Cohen also participated in the statement. Netanyahu concluded the statement by declaring: "I want to inform the citizens of Israel - there will be more good surprises.".
The move paves the way for a possible meeting between Netanyahu and al-Sisi in Florida at the end of the month.
