
An 18-year-old young man from Ashkelon was detained for questioning after firing an air rifle at a kindergarten in the city - while children were playing in the yard.

The incident occurred yesterday (Monday) at noon. No one present was injured.
The investigation was opened following a video posted earlier on social media, which documented the shooting at the garden courtyard. Upon receiving the report, police officers from the Ashkelon police station went to the scene, collected evidence and opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
According to the police, the initial investigation indicates that this was a prank.
Subsequently, after intensive activity by police officers from the Lachish area and the Ashkelon station, and with the assistance of the municipal camera system, the suspect was located and detained for questioning at the city's police station.
