From 2.5% to 2.4%: Inflation continues to decline - housing prices are falling

The Central Bureau of Statistics published today (Monday) the consumer price index for November - which recorded a decrease of 0.5%. This moderated annual inflation from 2.5% to 2.4%.

Likewise, apartment prices in September-October also fell by 0.5%.

Notable price declines were recorded in November in the categories of fresh vegetables and fruits - which fell by 4.1%, culture and entertainment which fell by 2.5%, transportation and communications which fell by 1.6%, and furniture and home equipment which fell by 1.1%.

Notable price increases were recorded in the food section - which increased by 0.4%. Rent for tenants who renewed their contract increased by 2.8% and for new tenants, an increase of 4.7% was recorded.

The housing price index published by the National Statistics Authority shows that comparing the prices of transactions carried out in September-October 2025, compared to the prices of transactions carried out in August-September 2025, it was found that housing prices decreased by 0.5%. The prices of new housing decreased by 1.4%.

Divided by districts, the following changes were recorded in September-October: Jerusalem (1.4%), North (-0.2%), Haifa (-0.6%), Center (-0.4%), Tel Aviv (-1.1%) and South (-2.1%). On an annual basis, the increase in apartment prices moderated to only 0.1%.

An annual comparison of transaction prices carried out in September-October 2025 compared to transaction prices carried out in September-October 2024 shows that the increase in apartment prices has moderated significantly and now stands at 0.1%. The annual new apartment price index decreased by 2.0%.
