The Gemara teaches that Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi, of the Mishnah order, commanded his household to leave a candle burning after his death. He explained that such a light brings immense and sublime peace to the soul. From this teaching originated the custom of lighting a candle at the graves of great righteous people and on their Yahrzeit days.

Lighting this candle with intention also serves as a reminder. Just as a flame that has gone out can be rekindled, so there will come a time at the resurrection when the souls of the righteous will shine once again in their full glory.

The new song, performed by singer Mandy Warsh, was inspired by a visit to the holy "tent" of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, a place where tens of thousands flock and light candles before praying to God in this holy place.
