Fatal accident at Kfar Hasidim intersection: 20-year-old killed and five injured - including 3 yeshiva students

A 20-year-old man was killed last night (Friday night) in a car accident involving several vehicles on Highway 70, near the Kfar Hasidim intersection - and several yeshiva students were injured, some seriously.

Rescue forces called to the scene provided initial medical treatment to three injured people in serious condition - including two yeshiva students, and two injured people in moderate condition - and they were evacuated for further treatment to Rambam and Bnei Zion hospitals in Haifa.

Haim Atia, head of the Rechsim branch of the United Hatzalah, and paramedics Benzi Michali and Shlomo Biton: "This is the scene of a serious accident involving two vehicles - unfortunately, one of the vehicle passengers was pronounced dead at the scene, due to the nature of the severe injuries he suffered.

""We also provided medical assistance at the scene to a number of young people, aged 20-28. Three who were seriously injured and two who were moderately injured. After all the injured received initial treatment at the scene, they were evacuated to Rambam and Bnei Zion hospitals in Haifa. Fire crews were operating at the scene due to the nature of the accident.".

Rescue paramedics Aryeh Slushatz and Avi Toito said: "When we arrived at the scene of the traffic accident with an MDA ambulance that we man, we found several victims in various states of injury, after they were injured in a traffic accident in which two private vehicles collided and as a result flew to the side of the road. Together with rescue and MDA paramedics and paramedics, we provided initial medical treatment to two young men in their 20s who were unconscious with head injuries, and to a young man in his 20s with injuries to his lower limbs, and they were evacuated in serious condition for further treatment in the trauma rooms at Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

""We also provided initial medical treatment to a 17-year-old boy and a 25-year-old man with head injuries, and evacuated them in moderate condition for further treatment at Bnei Zion Hospital in Haifa. Unfortunately, after medical examinations, the paramedics were forced to determine the death of a 20-year-old man with multi-system trauma.".

Senior medic Amir Wahabi said: "When I arrived at the scene, I saw several crushed vehicles and 6 injured people, some of whom were lying unconscious. At the same time as other teams were providing treatment to the injured at the scene, I saw a man lying in the bushes, behind the safety railing, next to a vehicle with very severe metal damage. The young man was unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, and he was suffering from very serious injuries to his body. We performed medical examinations, but unfortunately his injuries were significant and we had no choice but to declare him dead.".

Paramedic Yuval Lontal and paramedic Aryeh Slushats added: "We saw a large number of vehicles with significant damage to their bodies after a serious car accident. There were 6 injured people at the scene who suffered serious injuries to their bodies, among them was a young man about 20 years old who had no signs of life and we were forced to declare him dead and 3 young people in their 20s with serious injuries to their bodies, two of whom were unconscious and 2 other injured people who were moderately injured. We provided them with life-saving medical treatment and urgently evacuated them in intensive care vehicles and ambulances to various hospitals.".
