The United Nations approved last night (Wednesday), by a majority of 123 votes in favor, the resolution calling on Israel to withdraw from the Golan Heights.

7 countries voted against and 41 abstained.

The resolution is presented annually to the UN General Assembly, at the initiative of Syria and other countries, and receives an automatic majority.

Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon said: "The rally once again proves how disconnected it is from reality. Israel will not abandon the Golan.".

MK Meir Porush commented on the UN General Assembly's decision tonight - and said: "I feel in the Knesset like Ambassador Danon at the UN. The hostility here towards Torah scholars is like the hostility at the UN towards the people of Israel.".
