Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited today (Tuesday) the reserve soldiers who were injured in the clash in southern Syria. The visit took place at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, where the soldiers are being hospitalized.

During the visit, Netanyahu praised the fighters for their courage in battle, wished them a full recovery, and referred to the importance of the operation in the north in the face of threats from Syria.

""After October 7, we are determined to protect our communities on our borders, including on the northern border, and to prevent the establishment of terrorists and hostile actions against us, to protect our Druze allies, and to ensure that the State of Israel will be safe from ground and other attacks from the areas adjacent to the border," the Prime Minister said.

Netanyahu emphasized that Israel demands that Syria establish a demilitarized buffer zone: "What we expect Syria to do is, of course, establish a demilitarized buffer zone from Damascus to the buffer zone, of course from the mouths of Mount Hermon and the peak of Mount Hermon. We hold these territories to ensure the security of Israeli citizens, and that is what obliges us.".

However, Netanyahu hinted that a future agreement is also possible, but only subject to clear security principles: "In a good spirit and understanding of these principles, it is also possible to reach an agreement with the Syrians, but we will stand by our principles in any case.".
