Residents of West Binyamin, and especially residents of the Haredi city of Modi'in Illit, were informed this week that work on upgrading Highway 446 is progressing at a tremendous pace - and starting this week, they will benefit from two lanes in each direction on a road that until now had only one lane, which created a lot of traffic congestion.
This marks the completion of a significant milestone in the huge project led by the Binyamin Regional Council on Highway 446, which will help with traffic flow, reduce the heavy congestion on the strategic road, and improve the quality of life in the entire area.

At the same time, work on an additional lane designated for public transportation and on completing the entire project is ongoing and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The road upgrade is part of the transportation revolution and development momentum that the council is leading on all of Binyamin's roads, with a long line of strategic projects that have been completed and are currently being planned or implemented toward completion.
