Police forces raided the home of Rabbi Yossi Elitzur in the town of Yitzhar this morning (Wednesday), confiscating the home computer.

Rabbi Elitzur, the rabbi at Yeshiva Od Yosef Chai, was not at home at the time of the search.

The Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva stated: "The confiscation of Rabbi Elitzur's computer in a ridiculous police operation conducted this morning is another attempt by the government to intimidate and silence, but the Torah cannot be silenced.".

This event coincides with the IDF and Border Guard taking control of the yeshiva building, through a military seizure order, on the eve of Passover.

This morning it was reported inGalei Tzahal, because  Defense Minister Moshe Bogy Ya'alon has instructed the commanders of the IDF, the police, and the civil administration in the territories - in several closed forums in recent weeks - to accelerate the demolition of illegal construction in outposts and settlements where security forces encounter violence from extremists.

Last year, Ya'alon pledged before the Supreme Court to order the demolition of all new illegal construction in the territories, before it is inhabited. The directive means that if several outposts have structures that meet this definition, the outposts defined by the security establishment as "violent" will be the first to be reached by the bulldozers.

The settlers were updated on this new policy in at least two meetings between the settler leadership and senior officers in the territories. Central Command Major General Nitzan Alon met before Passover with the heads of authorities in Judea and Samaria following the violent clashes in Yitzhar and made it clear that where there is harm to the security forces, enforcement activity will take priority.

The policy is already being implemented on the ground: Before Passover, Ya'alon ordered the early demolition of illegal construction in Yitzhar, following the vandalism of the car of the Shomron Brigade Commander in Yitzhar. That demolition led to the violent confrontation between security forces and right-wing activists. The Defense Minister did not respond to the comments.

The right is attacking Defense Minister Ya'alon's order. The Samaria Settlers' Committee said: "We support the demolition of illegal buildings in Palestinian villages that perpetrate violence against security forces every day.".
