Supreme Court Judge Yitzhak Amit began dealing with the existing construction violation in his home.

Channel 14 reported that, according to information received, Amit replaced the roof - which was considered a construction violation - with another replacement, which is not yet the roof approved according to the permit, but this indicates that until now the condition of the structure in his home was not legally sound.

At the beginning of the affair - which was revealed on Channel 14 - Amit sent a letter to the Minister of Justice, in which he claimed that it was a minor incident and that there was no certainty that he should change the existing situation.

However, the Harel Committee was required to discuss the issue and grant him a renewal of the building permit. Now, for the first time since the announcement, the judge has actually begun to deal with the offense.

The response of the court administration: "The Amit family carried out work on their home in accordance with the valid building permit, which was granted to them by the Harel Local Planning and Building Committee.""

Last week, during the 'Open Studio' program hosted by Boaz Golan, the local committee's engineer, Leonid Nirkis, confirmed that despite the renewal of the permit, there is a construction violation in Amit's house.

He said Amit should have removed the roof himself in accordance with the committee's instructions.

This is first-hand testimony - from the committee's professional authority - which states that a Supreme Court judge did not carry out the planning committee's instructions, thereby violating the law.

Amit then responded through the spokeswoman for the courts administration: "The permit that is valid is valid until 19.8.26, according to the decision of the local committee. President Amit will continue to act according to the law.".
