Months after Shas and United Torah Judaism withdrew from the government: The Civil Service Commission has decided to fire dozens of employees in the offices of former ministers.

According to a report this evening (Sunday) by Michael Shemesh on 'Kan News', among the employees who will be laid off are consultants, chiefs of staff and secretaries.

Since the ministers' retirement last July, the bureaus have remained staffed by dozens of employees, appointments of the ultra-Orthodox parties.

In addition, Shas' ministries - the Ministries of Interior, Health, Welfare and Labor - have been operating for weeks without ministers.

Last July, Moshe Arbel, Yaakov Margi, and Michael Malchieli of Shas submitted letters of resignation from the government - after Shas' Council of Torah Sages decided on the party's immediate withdrawal from coalition positions in the government - in the shadow of the crisis over the conscription law.

Ministers Agoi, Goldknopf and Prosh, and Deputy Minister Uri Maklev also resigned from their ministries.

However, coalition sources said at the time that the resignations of Shas ministers were in fact a show of force and that advisors and CEOs who were Shas members would remain in the ministries.

Thus, even though the ministers resigned, the same sources claimed that in practice "everything remained the same.".
