Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed this evening (Sunday) the return of the body of Lieutenant Hadar Goldin to Israel - after more than 11 years in which it was held captive by Hamas.

""For 11 years, since Protective Edge, there have always been two pictures in my room - of Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin, may their memory be blessed," Netanyahu said.

""I knew we would bring them home. We didn't give up on it for a moment. We did a lot of things, but it goes without saying that after we entered Gaza, we could have done a lot more.".

Netanyahu praised the IDF fighters and the political decisions that led to his return: "Thanks to the heroism of the IDF fighters, and the decisions we made, they came home. Today Hadar Goldin is returning home.".

Netanyahu also referred to the Goldin family's long-standing struggle: "I know the agony his family went through, I know the longing for his return that united the entire people of Israel, and today we are united in that we have finally brought him to his parents, to his family, to the grave of Israel.".
