Police officers at the Glilot station in the Yarkon region arrested a 46-year-old resident of central Israel after he allegedly threatened a mayor in the center during a chance encounter on the street last Friday.

This morning (Sunday), a serious indictment was filed against him for the offense of threats, along with a request for full house arrest until the end of the proceedings.

According to the indictment, during the meeting, the suspect turned to the mayor and told him: "I will make sure you die, I hope you die" - and repeated his words several times.

The police opened an investigation immediately after receiving the complaint, identified the suspect within a short time, and arrested him for questioning at the Glilot police station.

The details of the investigation indicate that the background to the act is the suspect's dissatisfaction with the mayor's performance, and in particular with the allegations regarding the provision of reports to residents and business owners in the city.

The Tel Aviv District Prosecution Unit filed an indictment with the court this morning and a request for full house arrest, pending a decision in the defendant's case.
