Investigators at the Etzion Station in the Shi'ite district led to the filing of a prosecutor's statement against a resident of the ultra-Orthodox city of Beitar Illit, 42, who is suspected of committing serious crimes committed in the past against his daughters - when they were little girls.
As part of the investigation, which was carried out with the assistance of youth investigators and in cooperation with the Beit Lin Defense Center and welfare agencies, an evidentiary foundation was formed against the suspect, on suspicion of serious crimes committed within the family.
About a month and a half ago, a complaint was filed at the Beit Lin Defense Center by his 17-year-old daughter. As part of the investigation, the suspect was detained for questioning about a week ago.
Today (Tuesday), after his investigation and the formulation of the findings, a prosecutor's statement was submitted through the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office, announcing its intention to file an indictment and request detention until the end of the proceedings.
During the investigation, testimonies were collected, findings were collected, and various investigative and intelligence operations were conducted - which revealed that the suspect committed terrible acts against his daughters, when they were between the ages of 5 and 8. The investigation was accompanied by welfare officials, while ensuring the rights of the victims and fully maintaining individual privacy as required by law.
Naturally, we cannot elaborate beyond that.
The police stated: "We view any sexual assault on minors with great seriousness and will continue to act decisively and swiftly to bring those suspected of these serious offenses to justice.".
""In accordance with the law and to maintain the privacy of the victims, publication of details that could identify the victims is prohibited. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the police hotline 100 or the Etzion police station.".
