Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir held a command briefing this morning (Friday) with the commander of the colleges, Major General Dan Neumann, following a learning tour of the Command and Staff Course that took place in early September, during which the course participants met with Fatah member Ashraf al-Ajrami, the former 'Minister of Prisoners' in the Palestinian Authority.
The Chief of Staff instructed the Major General to conduct a thorough investigation into the unconfirmed conversation - and emphasized that he views the issue "seriously.".
According to a report on Channel 14, Al-Ajrami is considered a "moderate" figure compared to the terrorist organization Hamas, but as Minister of Prisoners' Affairs he was part of the despicable mechanism of the Palestinian Authority - which transferred funds to terrorists and their families.
He was invited by the IDF to lecture as part of a senior officer training course at the Inter-Services Command and Staff College.
According to the report, part of the conversation before IDF officers dealt with what Al Ajrami defined as "genocide in Gaza.".
The disturbing incident raises many questions, including who invited the former PA Minister of Prisoners and what is the purpose of these conversations.
