Education Minister Yoav Kish arrived today (Tuesday) at a meeting of district directors at the Ministry of Education - and instructed them to "concentrate efforts and focus in the coming months on supervision, enforcement and control of educational institutions where the Bible is not taught as required.".

According to a report by Lior Wroclawsky on Channel 13, the minister also instructed to increase supervision over the content of enrichment classes in the GfAN system on the subject of strengthening Jewish identity, in the amount of 4% given as part of the 'Roots' program - "in light of complaints about use for various purposes.".

Minister Kish noted that he had received several inquiries on the subject, and made it clear to the district administrators that he intends to take strict action against schools that operate in violation of the law. He emphasized that he expects their cooperation on the matter.
