MK Amit Halevi of the Likud, a member of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, today (Monday) sharply attacked President Trump's people, following Hamas' violation of the ceasefire and the attempt to prevent Israel from eliminating the terrorist organization.

In an interview on Galei Tzahal, Halevi - who is known for his stubborn stance on fighting Hamas, and even boycotted Trump's speech in the Knesset - said that the president's people are selling illusions to the public, as he put it.

""In my opinion, the crossings were opened too early. The event is being managed by an external party - by the Americans, and this is very problematic. As we progress with the agreement, more international forces will enter and this will limit the IDF. We need to learn from the event and ensure that security responsibility remains with Israel," he said.

He claimed that "it would be best for the IDF to first prepare a full decisive plan. A decisive action, not an 'attack' or a 'raid', but a decisive action and control of the Gaza Strip. Sooner or later it will happen, Israel will control the Gaza Strip. We have no other choice.".

According to him, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner "are pushing us, Witkoff and all that gang, not to the next, better stage, but to the gates of hell. This is what it means to bring in the Qataris and the Turks and the Emiratis. Mr. Witkoff should have come to the conclusion a long time ago that the Middle East is not about running a business in Miami or a tourist business in Miami.".

""The West needs to understand the enemy facing us a little more deeply and respond accordingly. This is not happening, and therefore we need to activate all the political levers. I'm not saying it's easy.".
