Ron Dermer, Minister of Strategic Affairs, revealed to government ministers last night (Friday night) why he is resigning from his position - explaining that he wanted to do so about a year ago, but chose to stay in order to succeed in advancing political moves with President Donald Trump, who was elected to his second term.
Minister Dermer: "At the beginning of the position, my wife gave me a deadline - two years. I was supposed to finish in December 2024. But then it turned out that President Trump had been elected to a second term. You can't miss such an opportunity to do great things - so my wife extended it and gave me until June 15th.
""Of course, I couldn't tell her that on June 12th we would attack Iran. Well, so she gave me an extension for another six months and then shortened it to 'Hosanna Rabbah.' Now, on 'Hosanna Rabbah,' the hostages are being released, we'll see what happens next..."'
According to Moti Castel's report on Channel 14, Dermer thanked his wife for the support he received from home for his work, despite the onslaught of slander that his family had to deal with from left-wing activists: "I want to thank the prime minister. He faced enormous pressure, you have no idea what navigation he had to do. Trump's plan will achieve all the war goals and all the hostages. I thank my wife who stood up to the slander and lies against me and my family.
""It was all a lie – like they said I told Trump in November that all the hostages were dead. A lie! It's hard for the public to understand, but those who dealt with it know the truth. Those who care about the hostages are our public and our government. The prime minister brought us to a situation where we are releasing all the hostages. When the protocols come out – people will know the truth.".
