Amit Segal, Channel 12's political commentator, commented on the Prime Minister's speech this evening (Saturday night) and noted that the level of certainty Netanyahu demonstrated about the release of the hostages both astonished and troubled him.

""What bothers me more about the text is the absolute certainty that Netanyahu is conveying that this is going to happen," Segal said. "Netanyahu doesn't actually leave even a thin line of evidence that something is going to go wrong in Cairo.".

Segal continued, wondering: "What's going on here? After all, we know the partner, we know the dynamics of negotiations. What's going on here is that Netanyahu feels so confident that he's listing all of Israel's achievements at the expense of Hamas and then announcing that as soon as Hamas knows for sure in the coming days that by the end of Sukkot, everyone will be released, and after it releases all the hostages, it will also be disarmed militarily or politically.".

The commentator added: "Something here is very strange to me and I'm not sure it's the right thing to do, for the Prime Minister of Israel to stand up and say it's safe before even getting into the content of how it's marketed.".

In a statement made this evening by the Prime Minister, he said: "We are on the verge of a great achievement. I hope that in the coming days, during the Sukkot holiday, we will be able to announce the return of all our hostages.".
