During a demonstration held on Saturday night against the attorney general, Attorney Gali Baharav Mayara, against the draft decree near her home in Tel Aviv, Israel Porush, chairman of the 'Defender and Savior' organization, which assists those defined by the military authorities as 'deserters', was arrested.

MK Israel Eichler responded to Porush's arrest: "The hypocrisy has been exposed! This evening, a Jew was arrested who has no right to protest against the dictatorial regime. In the State of Israel, a person who comes to protest the trampling of Torah scholars is liable to be arrested. In contrast, a person who comes to demonstrate in front of the Prime Minister every evening for several years - he must not be arrested because this is democracy. This is legitimate.".

""In Sodom, it is permissible to block the roads and harm travelers in the country, provided that the demonstrations are about 'democracy.' But when one demonstrates against the Attorney General who, through government violence, demands mass arrests, the denial of the right to study Torah, and the carrying out of criminal arrests of Torah students - this is forbidden and the protester must be arrested. The world will see and judge.".

Eichler added: "The government system practices open discrimination and hostility towards Haredi Jews. It allows freedom of demonstration only to those it wants, and denies the same right precisely where it is inconvenient.".

""Rabbi Porush exposed this hypocrisy tonight for all to see. Thanks to him, everyone now knows that the State of Israel is not a state of law, but a dictatorship hostile to democracy. There are unelected rulers here in the legal system who, God forbid, are forbidden to protest against.".

At the initiative of MK Meir Porush, in the past two weeks, prayer stands and the blowing of shofars have been held near the Attorney General's house in Tel Aviv, following her continued persecution of Torah scholars.

In a press release from the 'Protector and Savior' organization after the first Selichot service, it was stated: "The worshippers asked that the words of awakening also reach the ears of those whose harsh legal measures have caused a thorny campaign against the world of Torah, and perhaps in these moments of grace on the eve of Judgment Day, she will do a poignant soul-searching.".
