The seminary crisis in Jerusalem: After the Ashkenazi seminaries postponed the start of the school year for students entering ninth grade, the news reached the students at noon (Wednesday) that the crisis had been resolved through a new outline, and the house of Maran HaGal Landau announced the "end of the seminary crisis.".

According to the announcement, it was agreed to open two new classrooms in the "old seminary" in Jerusalem - and to place them in the seminary for all Sephardic girls. This will allow for the admission of about 80 students who were not placed, most of whom are of Sephardic origin. The municipality says that the students will be distributed among all the classes - a total of 14 ninth grades.

As part of the plan, the Jerusalem Municipality will provide the seminar with space in a nearby building, where the two new classrooms will operate, as well as additional infrastructure for its use.

A statement from the yeshiva's head stated that "at his personal request, it was agreed to open two new classrooms at the Beit Yaakov Institute Teachers' Seminary (the 'old seminary') in Jerusalem, and to accommodate all of the girls who remained at the school to their full satisfaction.".

The announcement also stated that "in Maran's personal address to the seminary director, Rabbi Israel Levin, Maran wrote that 'the voice of the students' cries out and it is impossible to stand by' - and ordered him to open the additional classes.".

Following this, Rabbi Landau ordered "to open the school year for all ninth graders in seminaries throughout the city, upon completion of the process.".

Alongside the arrangement presented by the Jerusalem Municipality, there are still about 70 students in Beit Shemesh who have not yet started the school year for similar reasons, and there has not yet been an agreement on how to integrate them into the seminars.
