Is this the "picture" of the civil war in Syria?
The Internet has been abuzz in recent days over a photo posted by a soldier in the Free Syrian Army on Twitter.
The picture shows a helpless toddler with three rifle butts pointed at his head.
The user, who belongs to the rebel camp, wrote in the caption of the photo: "The Syrian rebels managed to capture an Alawite child - a Shiite from among the supporters of the infidel President Assad.".
The image, as expected, stirred the emotions of netizens who reacted with shock at what seemed like another low point in the brutal war that has been going on for over three years in Syria.
""Are you Muslim? If these things are true, then even Israel is more merciful than you," a surfer attacked the person who shared the photo. Other commenters called for a stop to the horrific massacre that "shocks every human being.".
And there was someone who wrote: "Human beings, a curse will be upon your heads.".
However, it is important to note that images of this type distributed on social media are sometimes unreliable, and their distributors are accused of being intended solely for propaganda purposes, and in this case, for the benefit of President Assad's regime.
