Today (Sunday), crowds accompanied the late Rabbi Mazuz, Rosh Yeshiva 'Kesa Rachamim', to his resting place, who passed away on the seventh of Pesach at the age of 80.

The funeral procession left from the 'Kesa Rachamim' yeshiva on Uziel Street in Bnei Brak, where rabbis and Torah scholars, family members and students bid him farewell.

The funeral opened with the recitation of Psalms, after which his eldest son, Rabbi Gideon Mazuz, spoke, asking for forgiveness on behalf of the family and said: "I also ask for forgiveness for those who offended and spoke against, against his halachic views... but whoever continues to behave like this - of course the forgiveness will not apply to him.".

The Rishon LeZion, the Gersham Amar, crowned Rabbi Tzemach Mazuz's brother as his successor at the head of the yeshiva and in leading its institutions.

Rishon LeZion Rabbi Yosef arrived at the funeral wearing a black robe as a sign of mourning: "Maran ordered us not to eulogize him - but he did not order us not to cry. We all must cry. To cry, the crown of our heads has fallen.".

After reciting the Kaddish, the mourners sang the piyyut "Lech Ele Teshukati" and "Yagdal Elokhim Chai", at the request of the Rabbi, zt"l. From there, the funeral procession continued to the Beit HaChaim Ponevezh, where he was buried near the graves of his wife, may God bless her and her daughter Geula.
