Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana delivered a speech today (Sunday) at the plenary session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which has 193 member states - including Iran and Arab countries. The global conference is being held in Tashkent, the capital of Muslim Uzbekistan.
During the speech, the Knesset Speaker made it clear to leaders and members of parliament from around the world: "The war will not end until we return all the kidnapped to their homes and restore security to Israel.".
Chairman Ohana displayed a map from the podium, which was hanging in a kindergarten in Khan Yunis and was captured by soldiers during the battles in 'Iron Swords', in which the entire State of Israel is depicted as "Palestine": "This is the meaning of the cry 'From the river to the sea, Palestine will be liberated' - support for Palestine without Jews. Support for Judenrein Palestine. This perception made October 7 possible.
""The long-awaited peace will be achieved by a firm and joint stand by all of us - Muslims, Christians, Jews and people of all religions - against the forces of evil led by the ayatollah regime of Iran.".
A few rooms away from the plenary hall where the speaker's speech took place, the Knesset delegation to the IPU - headed by MK Dan Illoz, Knesset Member Tzaga Malko, and Knesset Secretary Dan Marzouk - clashed with members of parliament from several countries, including Algeria and Ireland, in a discussion of the Peace and Security Committee.
The members of parliament called on the organization to support a "two states for two peoples" solution, according to the 1967 borders, and expressed ""Deep concern about the ongoing Israeli occupation and the forcible takeover of land.".
MK Dan Illoz said: "Instead of standing with Israel and condemning the atrocities of October 7th – the day when Jews were slaughtered, women were raped and babies were burned alive – you propose a resolution called 'two states in Palestine.' Such a resolution does not promote peace, but rewards terrorism, encourages murderous ideologies, and sends a dangerous message: slaughter innocents – and the world will give you a state.".
The conference is taking place in the midst of the first historic visit by a Knesset Speaker to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, two Muslim countries, to which he was invited in the midst of the 'Iron Swords' war.
This morning, a channel affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced that the Knesset Speaker's visit to these countries is an attempt by the United States and Israel to take over Central Asia.
Ohana met in a conference with the Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Relations Committee in the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Ali Rashid Al-Nuaimi.
During the day, the Knesset Speaker and MKs held additional policy meetings with chairmen and members of parliament from many countries around the world, including India, Ethiopia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.
